Vintage Traditional Wedding at Pantagis Renaissance, Scotts Plains, NJ

You’ve never seen old-world glamour and true beauty like the wedding of this charming couple. It was such an incredible honor to share in Blake and Melissa’s special day, to capture the love and joy shared by their friends and family and to preserve these memories for years to come.

Melissa and Blake met at a time when neither of them were looking for relationships, but two years of occasional friendship enabled them to get to know one another in a much deeper way, developing a mutual and genuine respect. When they moved in together, it wasn’t long until Blake determined that the two of them were more than ‘shack up material’ – he wanted more. A Saturday morning proposal – pajamas and all – is what put these two on the path that brought them to the wedding seen here.

Melissa, known as Missy to her friends and family, looked glamorous in an enchanting Maggie Sottero wedding gown that featured an elegant jeweled bodice that enhanced her beauty and curves perfectly. Her natural beauty was accented by the work of Shataya Beauty Make Up Artist and Incognito Hair Salon, and a delicate birdcage veil brought the entire look together with style. She got ready with her family and bridesmaids; at times calm, excited, nervous, and emotional – but always totally in love. Blake looked truly handsome in a dark three-piece suit with accents that brought in the wedding colors in a dashing way.

Their deeply moving vows made sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the beautiful Pantagis Renaissance in Scotts Plains, New Jersey. With true love shining from their eyes, they sincerely promised to love and support each other, to be a strong and supportive partner, and to always choose each other, “every day.” After those and other vows, they cemented their union by tying together modern and traditional ceremonies: a sand-blending ceremony as well as “jumping the broom” to symbolize that they were two becoming one family.

Blake and Melissa, along with their friends and family, celebrated their marriage at a stunning reception where they danced their First Dance to the Kizomba remix of the Ed Sheeran song “Thinking Out Loud” which gave way to an epic dance party DJ’d by Pulse Sounds.

Melissa’s advice to other couples is to “Enjoy the moment. Everything goes by so fast it can all become a blur. Making time to take in every special moment will create memories that can’t be captured by picture or video.” Along with the memories of their special moments, the wedding was photographed by Weddingpix Photography, which, along with this video, will remind them of this amazing day forever.
