Romantic Luxe Wedding at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Shirley & Edgar | January 01, 2017

Brides Full Name Shirley Nicole Burrage
Grooms Full Name Edgar Geraude Jackson, Jr.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal.
We met at Church through a mutual friend. At first Edgar really didn’t like me but after awhile he became smitten with me. He became my secret admirer, sending me text messages telling me how beautiful I was or telling me how well I sang that particular sunday. Then he finally told me who he was and the rest is history. I had emergency surgery and was resting in the hospital when he placed the ring on my finger and my mom made me realize what he did. Then he stood up and gave me his speech and asked me to be his wife. I said Yes!

WEDDING DETAILS
Wedding Style: Describe your wedding dress. What was wedding shopping like for you?
During my recovery period Bj, Jeremy and I went to a couple of wedding stores throughout the area but David’s Bridal ended up being the best fit for me. I tried on so many gowns but the two I ended up with was a Grey Shaffon Vera Wang Ballgown and a Satin Strapless Pleated A-line Gown for the ceremony.

Culture: Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? If yes, tell us more.
We didn’t incorporate any culture but we did have a memorial section during the reception for the grooms mother and grandmother who passed away before the wedding.

Memories: What is your best memory from your wedding?
For the Groom the beautiful Ballerinas gracefully dancing as he anticipated the entrance of the Bride. For the Bride the moment I locked eyes with the Groom as I came down the aisle towards him.

Advice: What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Research your vendors and have a clear understanding of what you want and what they offer. Make sure your contract reflects your desires and everyone is on the same page when it’s signed and deposits are made. Have a budget and stick to it.

Romantic Haitian Wedding at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, New Jersey | Kerlange & Lloyd | October 15, 2016

Brides Full Name Kerlange Claude
Grooms Full Name Lloyd Alexandre

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal.
We met at Kean University in our social statistics class. We were classmates which later evolved into a friendship and later a relationship.

The proposal happened at our house. It was on December 20, 2015 Lloyd told me that he wanted me to assist him with putting something together. When he pulled out the box, he said Merry Christmas. I opened the box and it was a bicycle. I have always wanted a bicycle so I was excited! We ended up putting the bike together and during the clean up process, he stayed down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I gladly said yes!

WEDDING DETAILS
Wedding Style: Describe your wedding dress. What was wedding shopping like for you?
We wanted to get married that following year. I had a week off from work and began dress shopping. My best friend and I immediately went to David’s bridal the next month and was able to find “the dress”! It was satin and tulle all in one! I was in love!

Culture: Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? If yes, tell us more.
Yes we did. We are both Haitian so therefore we want our culture included in the wedding. We wanted our first dance to be a traditional Kompa song so we used the band Klass,”Lajan sere”. We also had a the Haitian delicacy “Kremas” as favors and Haitian food served.

Memories: What is your best memory from your wedding?
The first dance
